George Stahl/Special to the Sun

This Saturday, according to the calendar, is the first day of Fall. The leaves will begin to separate themselves from the tress as they change from green to hues of orange, yellow, red and brown. Our lawns will start to go through their period of becoming dormant and flower peddles will begin to drop as the plants prepare for hibernation. Squirrels and other small creatures will be busy gathering their groceries to carry them through the winter and, we will start bringing out our cold weather clothes. Maybe you’ve noticed that it is getting darker earlier lately. Everything is in order for the season to change.
