The Kern River Valley Astronomy Club would like to send an astronomical ‘thank you’ to “Man of the Year” Richard Rowe for his galactic efforts to preserve our dark skies above the Kern River Valley. Clear skies.

" Thanks, Rich & The KRV Astronomy Club, but I was just one of many to worked toward getting the dark sky ordinance. Back at the opening Board of Supervisor's Meeting in 2006, Ron Hyatt & Rick Crockett also spoke. Others, like Donn Matlack & Joe Ciriello e-mailed and got the ball rolling (so to speak). In the end, not everyone was happy with the ordinance, but it is a good start. "
