Ruby Jo Bills passed on to the Heavenly Father on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 in Wofford Heights, Calif.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1932 in Sanger, Calif. She has three sisters and two brothers from her parents James and Manda Maxwell. Her only surviving sibling is her brother Carlyle J. Maxwell.

She met her husband to be, Lary, when she was only 13, and he was 15. Lary joined the Navy in 1947 and served aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea CV47. She married her husband of 60 years in Reno, Nev. on Oct. 31, 1948 while on leave after he completed boot camp.

Ruby was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching baseball, football, and golf. She herself was an avid golfer, and once recorded a hole-in-one on Hole #2 at Riverside Golf Course in Fresno, Calif. on July 6, 1983. In the last couple years of her life, she also enjoyed watching horse racing, and she even talked about buying a race horse.

She was always a take-charge kind of person, and was active in a variety of social settings. One of her favorite hobbies was playing cards.

She always thought about the needs of her family and friends instead of herself, and was one of the most unselfish individuals that anyone would ever meet. Her love and caring for her family was beyond all things in life.

She will be missed beyond what any words could say, and we will all love her forever. She is survived by her two sons Timothy Dale Bills and James Davis Bills, Timothy’s wife Dianne Bills, two granddaughters Sarah and Marie Bills, and a great-grandson Charlie.

Services will be at the First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella on 3701 Suhre Ave. There will be a viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with services to follow.
