In their first game of the season the jayvee Lady Broncs took the Trona Lady Tornadoes for a whirl on Friday.

Kern Valley circled the bases like a hurricane as they scored 22 runs while collecting 22 hits.

Coach Jacqueline Phillips and Sandy Meadors agreed as they commented, “This win is a great way to start off the season.”

Krystal Puls pitched her way to the victory. She racked up nine strikeouts in picking up the win. In the last inning Bekah Borthick came on in relief and finished it off with two strikeouts.

Leading the way on offense was Hailee Adams who slugged two solo home runs. Kristina Carne cracked a round-tripper and delivered three singles, while collecting four RBIs. Borthick and Jordyn Acosta each collected three singles.

Helping herself out was Puls who had a double and a triple, while Patty Ruiz and Ashley Burgo each cracked a double. Rachel Krowel drove in two RBIs on her two singles, while Dominique Navarre, Cheyenne Hayes, and Toni Hogue each had a single apiece for the lady Broncs.
