Kern Valley dominates Cal City 90-18

Kern Valley started off fast and never looked back.

The Lady Broncs swept five events.  In a dual meet only the top three score team points. The team came out and really dominated Cal City in the meet.

In the 4x100 relay, the Lady Broncs team of Stephanie Lopez, Leah Bishop, Ashley Carothers, and Emily Beckstead joined together to run in a time of 57.7 to put them in first place.

In the 400 meters Beckstead finished the race 72.80 and took first place, and Carla Morrison took second place with 75.20. Placing fourth for the Broncs with a time of 81.18 was Bishop. “We all did amazing and we won Cal City,” Morrison said.

In the 800 meters, Katelyn Wallace took first place with a time of 3:01, Kayla Lawhon placed second at 3:45, Nattikan Choorat took third place at 3:46, and Jean Choorat placed fourth with 3:51.

Running in the 300 meter hurdles was Jenna Criswell, she placed first in a time of 60.6. Ashley Carothers took second with a time of 63 even.

In the 200 meters Ashley Diangelo with her time of 36.30 placed fourth and Bishop at 40.47 took fifth place.

Criswell ran the 3200 meters placing first with her time of 13:46.69 and Wallace placed second at 14:41.08. Morrison placed third and Diangelo placed fourth, (no time was provided).

Beckstead, Lawhon, Ashley Knapp, and Lopez, teamed up for the 4 x400 meters and lost to Cal City, their time 5:13.32. In the 1600 meter race Criswell 6:23 placed first, Wallace 6:50.22 placed second and Morrison 7:02.93 took third.  The girl’s 100 meter results were Beckstead 13.91 placed her first, Carothers 14.15 put her in third place and Ashley Knapp finished the race at 17.53.

In the Long Jump, Wallace took second place with her jump at 11’5 ½” and Lopez placed third with 11’4” as her final jump. Lopez also competed in the Triple Jump and placed first jumping 26’6”.

Criswell jumped 4’ in the High Jump event placing her in first place and in Shotput, Ashley Hampton placed first with her throw of 24’2”, Charlotte Padgett threw 23’10” placing her in second place.  Holly Largent threw 22’7”, and Alisha Bounds 20’.

Largent competed in the Discus event and took first place with 67’4”, Padgett with her threw of 59’9” placed second and Hampton at 54’4” took third and Bounds placed fourth.

 “Everyone came out and did real well. It was fun,” said Criswell.
