KV wins final game 43-20

The Kern Valley jayvee girls basketball team were thrilled to end their season playing their best game of the season and defeating Frazier Mountain 43-20.

Head coach Don Hazard said, “They played great defense and distributed the ball well as a team.  They really improved during the season.”

Kayla Harris finished the game with nine steals, five assists, two blocks, three rebounds and scored 16 points, while Dolly Anzaldo finished with 17 points, five rebounds, three steals, and one assist.

Leah Bishop had one steal and one rebound, Tori Burnum had 10 rebounds, three steals, one assist and eight points,  while Dorothy Thoman had seven rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block. Amber Snyder had three rebounds, one assist, Savannah Duvall had seven rebounds, one assist, and scored two points, and Ashley Hampton had seven rebounds and one block.

“It was fun watching the girls improving during the season while they learned the fundamentals. It was nice to see them have such a good game to finish their season,” said Hazard.

The Jayvee lady Broncs tied for second place in the HDL and were 8-5 overall.
