Let’s work together toward the benefit of all

It is troubling to me that we forest users cannot just get along and work toward beneficial goals instead of bickering and blowing out of proportion the issues that are not important anyway. I wish that non-OHV users would take the time to understand that most OHV riders are enviromentalists too.

We enjoy the great outdoors, nature, the views, the fresh air and the ‘away from it all’ feeling just like everyone else does. Most of us are respectful, considerate, polite and willing to help anyone in need. The unfortunate downside to OHV is the stereotypical dum dum with a loud muffler and a bad attitude that gets all the attention and is a poor representation of OHV. These are the same knuckleheads that play their music way too loud, leave litter everywhere and are more concerned with being ‘cool’ than being a good person. We within OHV are trying to stop this kind of behavior because we dont like it either. All the bickering just makes those that would rebel that much more motivated to do so.

Responsible OHV users create the trails we all use, organize trail maintanance days, clean up areas and try to educate the ‘bad apples.’ We wish to be part of the solution and not the problem, so if you have specific concerns that you feel we should address, please make them known, not just ‘OHV sucks and should be outlawed’, but real concerns. Let’s work together toward the benefit of all!

" Perhaps the filthy rich who live in Kernville and other high-rent areas should cast more stones. Money does not buy intelligence. Thank you very much. "

" Yes, it seems that we all agree to disagree but in the end, we want the same insofar as the forests go. I don't understand why we all who have similar agendas cannot get along and work together for the betterment of our forests. The mentality of the residents here in the Valley is severly challenged. Like, if you were brilliant, would you live in Bodfish or Lake Isabella? Just asking, thank ya all very much! "

From a fellow advocate...way to keep on the positive message! I really am baffled by the bigotry of some of those opposed to OHV access. We do need to all get along and work towards equitable solutions for all users and the environment. "
