Harsh questions for harsh times

Why is California in such awful financial condition? Can it be that there are more people on welfare and other types of aid in California than there are people in many states? Why are businesses leaving California? The workers in California and businesses  are subjected to outrageous taxes just to fund the free loaders. It is getting to the point that we can’t afford to live in our great state.

Why not deport all non-citizens (illegal aliens) then give the remainder 90 days to get off welfare or to find a sponsor to take care of them. If that fails then do as we do with unwanted pets.

Our prisons are overcrowded with persons not citizens (never have they had it so good) and people serving terms well past life expectancy. Why not execute the sentences imposed on those on death row then for  all those that are sentenced to more than five years past life expectancy given the needle. After all they  are not of any practical benefit to society – only a burden. This may sound harsh but would you prefer to maintain that convict or a dog or cat.

Are we still feeding students two meals a day when their guardians are still getting welfare to take care of them? Why not close the kitchen and contract for the students to receive a Whopper or Big Mac, with a drink and fries? That would be far less expensive per meal and would assist the existing kitchen employees in losing some weight.

There are so many ways to save the state and county monies, but it will take the courage and will to eliminate the waste.  Save the Pets.

" Gracious Mr. Yearwood, your comment is very harsh! I too, complain about the cost of illegal aliens and the cost of giving free services to them while we taxpayers pay for that and our own too. But, now that we have 44 million illegal aliens from Mexico living and working here in the USA, and have had an open border for over 10 years, what can we propose that will make them go home? They left there because their government is corrupt. The fault is our government giving them free services! "

" This whole letter is mean spirited! Mr. Yearwood, you are definatly on our prayer list. You and anyone who has the misfortune of coming into contact with you. "

" I dont agree with a lot of what you say in your letter, I believe undocumented immigrants (no longer called illegal aliens)do play a large part in the financial crisis that California is in as well as many of the schools failing to pass standard testing guidelines.
I dont remember the exact number but I recently read an article about "illegals" in the jails and how much each prisoner cost to house, overall the "prison" illegals alone cost taxpayers in the hundreds of millions.
They alone are not the cause, but hurt Ca. budgets nonetheless. "
