Lady Broncs beat Rosamond

The Lady Broncs peppered Rosamond with shot after shot on goal and came out a 6-0 winner.

Kern Valley took a total of 14 shots on goal with six finding the mark. They got equal scoring as Jaimie Olle, Stephanie Lopez and Hailee Adams each pushed a pair of goals into the net.

Lopez also was credited with two assists, while Jordyn Acosta, Brianna Jones, Olle and Patricia Ruiz each had one assist.

Shots on goal: Olle 3, Chelseas Cormack 2, Jones 1, Lopez 1, Hogue 1.

Vivian VanHook had nine saves in the game.

Kern Valley tried to make it two straight as they would come close against Frazier Mountain losing 2-1.

The Lady Falcons scored two early goals and then had to hold on as Kern Valley put the pressure on.

Hailee Adams scored the lone goal for the Lady Broncs and then with time running out, Haley Evans put one toward the goal, but was stopped to end the contest.

On the Adams goal, Hogue and Evans were credited with an assist.VanHook recorded four saves and two goals against, while Lisa Wallace had three saves.

Head coach Tom Cormack said, “I was disappointed that we didn’t win, but this young team has shown great promise for the future.”

In other action to close out the year, Kern Valley beat Rosamond on Feb. 1, 3-1 for their first league victory.

They recorded 20 shots on goal. Olle 12, Adams 4, Hogue 2, Evans 1 and Ruiz 1. Scoring for Kern Valley was Olle twice and Adams once.

VanHook was credited with six saves.

On Feb. 3, the Lady Broncs were beaten 11-0 by Desert Christian.

They would manage just two shots on goal. Both came from the foot of Olle.

Three different goal keeper’s guarded the net for the Lady Broncs. Van Hook had two saves, Wallace had 11 saves and Sidney Adams had two saves.
