California Highway Patrol:

REPORT OF COLLISION: On 2-7-10, Gabrial Lopez, 21, of Bakersfield, was driving a 2003 Acura westbound on Old Kern Canyon Road, just east of Borel Road, at approximately 40-50 mph when he failed to properly negotiate a sharp left turn. Lopez applied the brakes, but was moving at a high rate of speed and was unable to stop before leaving the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and rolled over several times before coming to a stop approximately 50-100 feet down the hillside. While the vehicle was rolling, Lopez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained major head injuries. Lopez was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, however blood results are still pending. Lopez’ passenger, Mark Charmley, 22, of Bakersfield, was wearing his seat belt and sustained several abrasions to his arms and chest. He and Lopez were transported to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.

Sheriff’s Department: SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 12-30-2010, Deborah Joy Wright (52) was arrested in the 14100 block of Allen Ave., in Weldon for suspicion of public intoxication.

WARRANT ARREST: On 1-26-2010, Brian Ray Holden Jr. (18) was arrested in the 6100 block of Poplar St., in Weldon on a warrant charging him with burglary, grand theft of property, and vandalism.

WARRANT ARREST: On 1-26-2010, Steven Ray Holden (20) was arrested in the 7000 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., in Lake Isabella on a warrant charging him with burglary, grand theft of property, and vandalism.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 1-26-2010, Sherry Leann Ivey (51) was arrested in the 2200 block of Cypress Lane, in Wofford Heights on possession of suspected controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, and under the influence of suspected controlled substance.

SUSPICION OF VANDALISM AND TRESPASSING: On 1-29-2010, Jon Alexander Maalouf (21) was arrested in the 100 block of Spring Court, in Bodfish on suspicion of vandalism and trespassing.

SUSPICION OF ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: On 1-30-2010, Patrick Castro Tovar (53) was arrested in the 1700 block of Curran Ave, in Lake Isabella on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

WARRANT ARREST: On 2-1-2010, Patricia Ann Moats (56) was arrested in the 6400 block of Laurel Ave., in Mountain Mesa on a warrant charging her with non-sufficient funds/checks and failure to appear on a written promise.

SUSPICION OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 2-1-2010, Bryan Lee Jauch (42) was arrested in the 6200 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., in Lake Isabella for suspicion of making/passing fictitious bill and public intoxication.
