The Lake Isabella/Bodfish Property Owners Association has lined up a roster of speakers for its March 9 meeting at the Senior Center. The group, which meets monthly, frequently hosts forums dealing with major issues in the Valley.

“The purpose of Tuesday night’s forum is to allow open discussion of the major water issues in the Kern River Valley,” said property owners association member Ron Benoit.

“We have scheduled 1st District Supervisor Jon McQuiston; Chuck Williams, Kern River Watermaster; Chris Whitley, Manager of Cal Water’s Kern River Valley District; Chuck Lackey, Director, Kern County Engineering; Lucinda Sue Crosby, Conservation Coordinator; and Bob Robinson, Upper Kern Watershed Coordinator,” said Benoit.

Carol Rutledge will serve as moderator and Richard Rowe is coordinator.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at the Senior Center in Lake Isabella.

For more information contact Benoit at onedow@earthlink.net, Rutledge at Bodcarol@aol.com, or Rowe at www.LivingGreenKRV.org.

On the heels of the California Public Utilities Commision public hearing on Feb. 18 in Kernville, organizers are anticipating, “a good turnout.”

" I have both Degrees and Certification in water and waste water plus CA certification in both. Here a form of nepotism rules but I lived in the highest rate municipal water district in the state that suffered the same problem. However when Richard Rowe and I compared water rates a few years ago, his CWA bill per unit was eight (8) times higher. Toss the good ol boys, form a municipality and start a user/voter controlled company. Don't buy out the existing substandard facilties and workers unless proven to be a value. No one promises insiders a profit. Best! "

" I've got just the idea to pitch. Buy out CWS, condemn their system and pay fair market price, that's how it works. Then put in a municipal/valley system. Don't even THING about using taxes, make it stand alone.

Then you'll have TOTAL control "
