California Highway Patrol:

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-10-10 CHP received a report of a solo vehicle traffic collision with injuries on Hwy. 178 near Cow Flat Road. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Faith Laveene Hobbs, 48, of Bakersfield for felony DUI, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, receiving a stolen vehicle, child endangerment and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-11-10 Paolo Caminiti, of Kernville, was driving a Hyundai in the trailer park at 11306 Kernville Rd. Caminiti backed the Hyundai into a parked Ford next to his residence. The subsequent investigation led to Caminiti’s arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-11-10 a USFS Officer detained Samuel White, 63, of Tehachapi, after receiving several reports that he was driving around the fire station while under the influence. CHP assistance was requested and the subsequent investigation led to White’s arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-13-10 a CHP officer observed Debra Jane Hodges, 50, of Bakersfield driving southbound on Wofford Blvd. with no taillights on after dark. The CHP officer placed his patrol vehicle directly behind the suspect vehicle and observed the suspect swerving within the southbound #1 traffic lane of Wofford Blvd. An enforcement stop on the suspect vehicle was made. Upon contacting the driver, a DUI investigation was performed and Hodges was arrested for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-13-10 Charles Edward Nelson, of Wofford Heights, was observed driving southbound on Wofford Blvd. and drifted over the double yellow lines as he proceeded through a right curve in the roadway. The subsequent investigation led to Nelson’s arrest for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-13-10 Karla Jean Merritt, of Bakersfield, was stopped on Hwy. 178 west of Kern Canyon Road and walking around outside her vehicle. A welfare check was made and the subsequent investigation led to Merritt’s arrest for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

REPORT OF FATAL COLLISION: On 02-13-10 Jennifer Klase, 31, of Kernville was traveling southbound on Mtn. 99 north of Goldledge Campground, when for an unknown reason she allowed the right tires of her vehicle to drift onto the west dirt shoulder. Klase overcorrected to the left causing her to lose control. Her 2005 Toyota Tundra continued across the roadway onto the east dirt shoulder. The left side of the Toyota struck a large boulder. The Toyota came to rest within the southbound lane where it was located by a passing motorist. Klase suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-13-10 Jay Edward Adams, 27, of Tehachapi, was stopped for a rear tail lamp not functioning properly. A DUI investigation revealed that Adams was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

SUSPICION OF DUI: On 02-13-10 Larry Alan Sanford, 46, of Bakersfield, was stopped for weaving into oncoming traffic. A DUI investigation revealed that Sanford was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Sheriff’s Department:

SUSPICION OF TRESPASSING: On 1-31-2010, Dean Dennis Dornner (45) was arrested in the area of Banff Way and Wofford Heights Blvd., in Wofford Heights on suspicion of trespassing.

SUSPICION OF RECKLESSLY DISCHARGING A FIREARM: On 2-4-2010, Justin Edward Smith (20) was arrested in the 1600 block of Chain Ave., in Lake Isabella on suspicion of recklessly discharging a firearm and brandishing a weapon.

WARRANT ARREST: On 2-4-2010, Steven Lee Garcia (27) was arrested in the 3900 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., in Bodfish on a warrant charging him with burglary.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 2-4-2010, Herbert Dwain Humphreys (56) was arrested in the 10 block of North Dr., in Bodfish for possession of suspected controlled substance, possession of narcotic controlled substance, and possession of a stun gun.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: On 2-4-2010, Ileen Diane Love (51) was arrested in the 10 block of North Dr., in Bodfish for possession of suspected controlled substance, possession of narcotic controlled substance.

SUSPICION OF SPOUSAL BATTERY: On 2-6-2010, Kevin Patrick Hardin (34) was arrested in the 2800 block of Melody Lane, in Onyx on suspicion of spousal battery.

SUSPICION OF FALSE IMPRISONMENT WITH VIOLENCE: On 2-7-2010, Christopher R Goulding (20) was arrested in the 2600 block of Edna St., in Lake Isabella for suspicion of preventing use of the telephone and false imprisonment with violence.

SUSPICION OF WILLFUL CRUELTY TO A CHILD: On 2-7-2010, Shannon Gabrielle Palmer (31) was arrested in the area of Lake Isabella Blvd. and Nugget, in Lake Isabella for suspicion of willful cruelty to a child, transportation/sale of suspected controlled substance, under the influence of controlled substance, and improper attachment of vehicle license plates.

SUSPICION OF POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE FOR SALE: On 2-7-10, Michael David Chaisson (18) was arrested in the area of Lake Isabella Blvd. and Nugget, in Lake Isabella for transportation of suspected controlled substance, possession of suspected controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, possession of suspected controlled substance for sale, possession of suspected controlled substance, under the influence of suspected controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, carrying concealed firearm in public, and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place/vehicle.

SUSPICION OF BATTERY ON SPOUSE/EX-SPOUCE: On 2-8-10, Nolan Vance Doss (27) was arrested in the 5600 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella for suspected injure to telephone/power line and suspected battery on spouse/ex-spouse.

    " While I do agree with you Kat, in my experience there are few "real" jobs up here, and of those few it's kinda hard to get hired once you have any kind of criminal record, meaning your most likely going to be stuck in fast food or some other crap job that does not pay enough to live on. Kind of a catch-22 for the ones that actually want to change. "
