The Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce has been working hard already in 2010.
An important matter concerning our valley is the Department of Fish & Game’s halt to stocking trout in the upper Kern River. I have been asked to attend a meeting at Governor Schwarzenegger‚Äôs office in Sacramento, concerning the impact this stocking issue is having on our valley’s economy. I want to hear from the valley’s business owners with respect to this important issue. Please contact me via email at: rex.emerson@kernrivervalley.com or call the chamber office at (760) 379-5236.

Whiskey Flat Days, in Kernville, is just around the corner, we are all looking forward to yet another successful President’s Day weekend event. It’s always a great time.
The Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting our annual Casino Night, Saturday, April 10, at the Senior Citizens Center, in Lake Isabella. We are looking for volunteers who can lend a helping hand at our event to do a number of tasks. If you are able to help, please contact our office at (760) 379-5236
May 1 is another date you will want to mark on your calendar. The Kern River Valley Chamber is holding its first annual Isabella Blvd Parking Lot Sale. We will be recycling old and new stuff and need your donations. The best part is you do not have to lift a finger or spend a dime. Just give us a call and we will come and get it. We need that stuff you haven’t used or seen in years, but someone else could use. Call Terry at 760-379-8083, tamoore841@hotmail.com or Ron 760-376-4790 rjsmithconstruction@wildblue.net.
Our next general membership meeting is coming up on February 10th at 12 noon. The meeting will be held at El Portal Restaurant, 5500 Lake Isabella Bl, Lake Isabella. If you would like to attend, please RSVP with our office at (760) 379-5236 or email office@kernrivervalley.com
Once again, my sincerest Thank You to all of you that support your Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Before I close, I would once again like to congratulate the Man & Woman of the Year Award recipients, Lanny and Cheryl Borthick, very much deserved.
