How to help Haiti:

Published on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 10:18 PM PST

After disasters, such as the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti, scam operations take advantage of people trying to help. A safe way to help is to take advantage of a trusted organization, such as Rotary International. It is a volunteer organization of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, and help to build goodwill and peace in the world with more than 1.2 million members. Immediately after the earthquake in Haiti, Rotary started mobilizing to help Haiti and its 15 Rotary Clubs.

The Rotary Club of the KRV provides the following information on how to help in ways you can be sure will make a difference. While online, go to http://tinyurl.com/Helping-Rotary-Help-Haiti. Help Rotarians in and close to Haiti: Rotary’s District 7020 is composed of 68 clubs in 10 different Caribbean countries or territories. Visit Rotary’s District 7020 website for more information. http://tinyurl.com/RI-District-7020.
