Editor’s note: The following letters to the editor were written by students in Steve Brucker’s fifth grade class at Woodrow Wallace Elementary School.

I love the way that we all live in a safe community. We can go out and have fun feeling absolutely safe. There is no gangs, bullys, shooters, or any other dangerous people. Our valley is so clean and safe no wonder people like it here.

I think it is a safe community because it has healthy air. And the people there are so nice to others. Another reason is that it is a kid area to be at. On second thought the area needs to have a little bit more stuff added to it. Like what it needs is a huge water slide going into the lake. It also needs to have an art gallery. And one other thing is a new arena for horses. That is what is good., and what you need for your community.

I think that every body should recycle every piece of trash they have. I think this because land fills just ruen our grounds and at dumps the trash just blows every were.

But most of all the trash is Stinky and Nasty! We need more recycling buckets for every thing instead of taking it to the landfills. It’s very important to recycle so we don’t turn this area into a big dump.

The Kern River Valley is a great place to go swimming, water ski, and rafting. You can go to college, school, or high school. Also you can go to the library where you can read or get on computer for 1 hour that what you can do in the Kern River Valley.

I think Kern County is a great place because of the clean air and all of the good people. We have no gangs here. I love Wallace School, it’s great and all the teachers who work there. I’m very glad that I live in Kern County.

Kern County has lots of parades for special occasions. About the lake, well the lake is a great place to cool of and to go boating. You can also fish there. You could catch fish for fun or you can catch fish to eat.
