First responders to the rescue

Published on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 10:11 PM PDT

I would like to send a big thank you to all of Station 71 (Southlake) Fire Department for coming so quickly to my aid on May 15. My husband had fallen and broke his hip. The firemen quickly evaluated the situation and got Care Ambulance there. One of the EMT’s name was Kevin. They took us to KMC, stayed until they knew he was going to be admitted. Naturally, I was upset, the driver kept talking to me and got me settled down by the time we got to KMC.

Again on May 29, my husband had another emergency and I called 911. Again, Station 71 responded and so did Care Ambulance. We took him to Memorial Hospital. Kevin was again on this trip and remembered my husband. My husband is now home, learning to walk again.

I can only say we in this valley are very blessed to have such a wonderful, caring, and dedicated young men and women in both departments. I just hope I never have to call you again. God Bless to all.
