To honor the memory of the man whom I was privileged to call my friend, I will now include in my letter what you left out in your article.
Of course Brian wasn’t without faults, who is? Rarely, however, will you find a person who possesses the same combination of good qualities to the degree he did. Brian was uncomplicated. He enjoyed helping those in need. He was funny, care-free, fearless, valiant, generous, trustworthy, and reliable. A valuable ally, he was an equally formidable foe. Brian died the way he would have chosen, rescuing damsels in distress. Beloved and irreplaceable, he will be missed for a long time to come.

I knew Brian, my daughter married into the family so he was a in-law. I met the young man on a couple of occasions. He was extremely polite and well mannered. Who cares about what he did in the passed, he was doing everything possible to get his life together.
Should have given Brian credit instead of cutting him down. "
