Remembering Michael Jackson, dead at 50

Published on Saturday, June 27, 2009 12:50 PM PDT

The 50-year-old musical superstar Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles. He was preparing for what would be a series of 50 concerts starting July 13 at London's famed 02 arena.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office has completed a preliminary autopsy, but results of toxicology tests will take another four to six weeks, authorities said.

While Jackson's death does not fall within the parameters of "local' news, the Sun recognizes that Jackson and his creative genius, as well as his bizarre and often baffling behavior, were intertwined with the lives of people everywhere. Share your comments below.

" To Kernville Dan - So what does any actor or singer or dancer do for society? I guess you could say nothing, strictly speaking. Farmers produce food, factory workers make things. Useful stuff. But without entertainers our lives would be a lot grayer. Art may not be "useful" per se but it sure adds to the enjoyment of life. MJ made millions upon millions of people happy. Surely that's not nothing. And, I daresay, probably a lot more than either of us are going to contribute to society. "

The negative news came, i didn't pay attention on it. as far as i knew could see through his eyes, he was burden loneliness, pain & sorrows, He had learnt about what makes feel being lack of childhood, he built NeverLand to fill his wish, his dreams to have his own Fantasy Land to at least enjoy his being kid in his heart on his adult time. also for his own 3children, There few people was mean to him. Farrah, did she get all that "big send off" no, everyone was going crazy over him.

    What for?

Someone wrote what did Farrah do for the world? She did a "cancer trial treatment" got sick from the treament at City of Hope, not only to help herself, but it will also help others. She may have done more, she just was not in the news all the time like him. "

" I agree with Gill the psychoanalyst that commented on July 19th. Michael didn't have much say as a child about anything. In fact, just as Gill says, he really didn't get to be a child at all. So when he grew up on the outside, he lived as a child on the inside and really enjoyed interacting with other children. This does NOT make him a pedophile, and he wasn't. He was a man who was young and innocent at heart with a pure soul. I'm sorry, kids, for the way your daddy was treated. I love you, Michael. "

Michael's talent will truly remain forever.. =)

Despite all his fame, he stayed to be a very humble person always giving love to those in needs especially children which what Michael thinks the world needs..
    RIP MICHAEL JACKSON "

He remained in a child like state for a lot of his adult life and enjoyed playing and socializing with other kids, as he was play deprived in his childhood. He was not a peadophile. The only TRUE emotion is LOVE. michael Jackson accepted and pronounced love through his music. He was, is and allways will be, loved by millions. I love you Michael "

No matter how little, every good deed still count,it may have brought changed to the lives of people he has touched, that alone is enough to see his beauty not just as an artist but as a person as well. If you didn't like the coverage you had the option of turning the channel and watching something more to your liking. The previous poster is right; have some class and show a little bit of respect for those who are grieving. You don't like him, so what? Be a decent human being and stop trying to make people feel bad. "

So, when are you doing a memorial? Do you have a fund set up for friends and family? Are you collecting all the names? Whenever you see a service person, do you thank them for their service? perhaps pay their bill if you see them at a resturant?

I know I'm usually sarcastic, but I really mean these questions. And I'd be happy to help with these projects. In the mean time, honoring someone who honored disables vets(MJ) causes no harm and I do thank service people whenever the oppertunity presents itself. "

Also he isn't the only person in the world to have his childhood taken away and using that as an excuse for sleeping behind closed doors with little boys just don't get it.

The least MJ’s fans can do is to stop acting like he had the ability walk on water, and now murder? Get real. "

And to think that two weeks before Michael Jacksons death we were all joking about him being a child molester. I don't think he was. He never got a chance to grow up. He never got the chance to be a little kid and play. And when he was a pop culture icon he still didn't know what to do. So he changed his face which was kinda gross....but he still kept singing. "

He never had a childhood and his father seemed to pretty much just want to make a living off him. Some people might come out of stuff like that and shake it right off, maybe MJ just kept trying to live a childhood he never had. I've never been in that situation so I cannot judge. I just hope he is finally at peace. "

Most artists are strange (the truly gifted). I had sleepovers as a child up to my teens... it is not considered acceptable as an adult because of sexual overtones. Perhaps the problem is with our perception of sleepovers or we have lost our innocence. Or, he was a bad dude. The families made lots of money off that bad dude. "

That was when she got mad and the rest is history. According to the kid NOTHING ever happened that was inappropriate! It was all fabricated. I'll bet it is the same for the other also. "

    His light shone bright. "

" I knew it was only a matter of time before someone would be upset that the DEATH of MJ would overshadow's Farrah and while I'm saddened both deaths and their families, lets not forget that Farrah's death was not unexpected and dont disrespect the dead, go show Farrah love by going on her page and showing love but dont come on here and read articles about MJ's death and get mad about hearing about it. Enjoy MJ weekend on TV like the rest of us. "
