A man who had been missing since Sunday, Aug. 27, was found dead on Tuesday afternoon by a Kern County Sheriff's Department helicopter. Guy Moran, 38, of Bakersfield, was riding a mountain bike down the Cannell Trail east of Kernville Sunday with two friends. Moran, said the Sheriff's Department, became separated from his friends and did not show up to meet them at the end of the ride. Moran's body was found about two miles southeast of Kernville by the helicopter at 4:30 Tuesday. The Sheriff's Department said the case is being investigated as an accident, with exposure as the possible cause of death.
