In November our community will cast their votes for board members for both the local school and hospital districts. Voters will also determine the fate of the hospital bond issue that is seeking an increase in local property tax dollars to fund a new emergency room, amongst other things.

Labor Day schedules for CALM and Kern County Museum
Tuesday, August 31, 2010 2:09 PM PDTThe California Living Museum (CALM), 10500 Alfred Harrell Highway (between Lake Ming and Hart Park) will be open, but the Kern County Museum, 3801 Chester Avenue in Bakersfield, will be closed for the Sept. 6 Labor Day holiday.

Seniors Summer Health Faire Sept. 13
Tuesday, August 31, 2010 2:09 PM PDTThe Kern Valley Healthcare District, partnered with the KUSD Family Resource Center, will host the 10th annual Seniors Summer Health and Information Faire on Monday, Sept.13 at the Senior Center in Lake Isabella.
